September 2, 2014

It's the moment Strictly Come Dancing fans have been waiting for. On Sunday evening, the nation's favourite dancing show returns to our TV screens for the 12th series. Hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, viewers will be treated to an exclusive premiere from inside the Strictly studios and given their first glimpse of the 15 celebrities competing for the coveted glitterball trophy. The stars taking part in the 2014 series have been confirmed, and in exclusive interviews with HELLO!, have admitted their hopes and fears for the show.

Strictly stars: Pixie Lott, Frankie Bridge, Caroline Flack and Judy Murray

The Saturdays star Frankie Bridge revealed that at her recent wedding to footballer Wayne Bridge, she didn’t even want a first dance because she was so unsure of her skills on the floor. "No, we didn’t want to do a first dance," Frankie told HELLO! "We were like, ‘Oh, this is so cringey.’ We made a deal that the bridesmaids and ushers had to get up two seconds in." Joining her in trepidation is Casualty star Sunetra Sarker. "I’m kind of known for tripping up or falling over on live TV," the actress said. "But I’ve always wanted to do Strictly."

Mark Wright, Scott Mills, Gregg Wallace and Simon Webbe

Popstar Pixie Lott says she is excited to try out a new skill after recently branching out into acting: "I love pushing myself as a performer," she says. "I did my first drama for the BBC this year so I thought it would be fun to explore this side. "Other stars in this year's season includes Alison Hammond, Caroline Flack, Jennifer Gibney, Judy Murray, Gregg Wallace, Jake Wood, Mark Wright, Scott Mills, Simon Webbe, Steve Backshall, Thom Evans and Tim Wonnacott. As well as watching the celebs hit the dance floor, viewers can also look forward to welcoming three new professional dancers to the Strictly team – Joanne Clifton, Trent Whiddon and Tristan MacManus.
