Jennifer Lawrence admits 'I love Katniss's courage' at The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 premiere

The stars of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 arrived at the worldwide premiere in London on Monday, and the film's entire cast, including Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, and Josh Hutcherson were in attendance.

Jennifer, who plays the heroine Katniss Everdeen, wore a quilted pale blue Dior gown with waterfall detail and floral embellishments.  

The Oscar winner wore her cropped hair in an up do with a headband to accessorise, and kept warm on the chilly November evening with a long black blazer coat.

"It's interesting to play the same character but in this movie she's been stripped down and has lost herself." Jennifer revealed to red carpet host Edith Bowman.

"I love her courage - I could never imagine being that brave", Jennifer admitted. "She's awesome."

Also in attendance was Donald Sutherland, who plays President Snow. The acclaimed actor praised Jennifer Lawrence, admitting: "You don't get a chance to work with a genius every day."

Liam and Josh, the film's two leading men, arrived looking smart and stylish with Liam in a three-piece suit and Josh wearing a blue ensemble.

Jena Malone, who plays tribute Johanna, wore a long white and canary yellow block dress with loose sleeves, and bounced around the red carpet jumping between photographers and fans.

"It's such a beautiful night, I'm already like a screaming fangirl, I've lost my voice!" Jena told Edith, before adding: "It's pure joy and excitement [working on The Hunger Games]. It's been incredible."

Sam Claflin, who plays fellow tribute Finnick, wore an on-trend burgundy suit jacket, while Emmy-nominated actress Elizabeth Banks braved the chilly evening in a low V-neck gown with floral detail.

"You can't prepare for this kind of reception", Sam revealed.

It was the first time on The Hunger Games red carpet for Julianne Moore, who wore a black bodycon dress with long sleeves and a jewelled cape.

Producer Nina Jacobsen spoke to Edith and revealed that she loved how "committed, so passionate, and so smart" the fans of the series were.The hugely anticipated third film in The Hunger Games franchise, Mockingjay Part 1 follows the events of Catching Fire, with Katniss now being held by the mysterious and previously unknown inhabitants of District 13, which was thought to have been destroyed at the end of the first rebellion years before. The war with the Capitol is not over yet though, and with Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) alive and working with President Snow, Katniss has a lot of decisions still to make.
