Judy Murray and Anton Du Beke voted off Strictly Come Dancing

November 16, 2014

Judy Murray has become the seventh contestant to leave Strictly Come Dancing. The tennis coach and her partner Anton Du Beke were eliminated after losing the dance-off to Casualty actress Suentra Sarker and Brendan Cole.

Sunetra and Brendan's Samba, which they did to I Don't Feel Like Dancin by the Scissor Sisters, triumphed over Judy and Anton's Mary Poppins-themed Viennese Waltz.

All four judges, Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood chose to save Sunetra and Brendan, although Len added of Judy and Anton: "I'd like to say that I thought tonight's performance was fantastic."

"I was starting to think I was absolutely hopeless but I know am still not very good!" said Judy. "Anton has treated everything with the most incredible sense of humour, he is great fun to be around and has made my Strictly experience very very special."

Anton added: "I am so excited and thrilled about the whole experience for Judy as she is such a big fan of the show and the fun that we have had has purely been because of Judy’s great sense of humour.  She is such a warm spirit and character and personality and is such a great sport with such enthusiasm which made the whole thing enormous fun."

It was a week to remember for all the participants as  the show was broadcast live from the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom and featured musical performances from Dame Shirley Bassey, who sang Goldfinger and McBusted, who performed their debut single Air Guitar.
