Jake Quickenden looks set to become a surprise addition to this year's I'm A Celebrity… line-up. The former X Factor hopeful has been spotted at a hotel in Australia just days after he was named favourite to make an unexpected arrival in the jungle alongside former MP Edwina Currie. It's thought that the 26-year-old – the fifth act to leave the X Factor – will join celebrities including Melanie Sykes, Michael Buerk and Tinchy Stryder in the bush on Wednesday.
Jake does seem to have been hinting that he's joining the show on his Twitter account. On Sunday, he wrote, "TV is getting so much better with @imacelebrity starting tonight… Buzzing." Then, on Wednesday, he greeted his fans with the message, "Morning campers, Hows every1 today?"
His tweet coincidentally coincided with the announcement that Gemma Collins had decided to leave the I'm A Celebrity… jungle after just three days. A spokesperson for the show confirmed the news, adding, "We're sorry to see Gemma go but respect her decision and wish her well."
Gemma had struggled with camp life since the start of the series on Sunday. Viewers of the show can see her departure by tuning in to I'm A Celebrity… on Wednesday night at 9pm.
