December 12, 2014

Simon Webbe is convinced that the he is unpopular with the public, despite getting through to the Strictly Come Dancing semi-finals. The former Blue singer and dance partner Kristina Rihanoff faced Pixie Lott in the dance-off on Sunday night, but made it through to the next round on the basis of head judge Len Goodman's vote. Simon has since admitted that it was a 'massive shock' to make it through, as Pixie had been favourite to win the show.

Speaking to The Sun, he revealed: "When I got through I was ecstatic. But I've been reading social media and I'm a bit worried everyone's going to hate me because a lot of people thought Pixie was a better dancer and didn’t deserve to go. "But Len is head judge and he chose me. With his trained eye, perhaps he saw something the public didn't. I just want to work hard and try not to let Len down." The 36-year-old admitted that he thought he was going to be eliminated from the show before he had even hit the dance floor on Saturday. "I'd actually accepted that I was probably going home on Saturday morning. I told myself that the best times I'd had so far were when I let go an enjoyed it. So I did that. It helped" he said.
