Stars turn out for the 2015 Oscars luncheon

Hollywood's leading ladies led the way on Monday as the 2015 Oscar nominees attended the annual Oscars luncheon. Putting on their afternoon best, Reese Witherspoon and Rosamund Pike were joined by Julianne Moore, Marion Cotillard, and British actress FelicIty Jones, as the five Best Actress nominees posed for pictures, before later being awarded for their nominations.

Speaking on the red carpet, Reese, who is nominated for her portrayal of Cheryl Strayed in Wild, revealed: "I get more letters and emails about this film than any movie I've ever made." 

The five Best Actress nominees later posed together on the red carpet, before Rosamund discussed the characters fate in Gone Girl, for which she is nominated for her turn as Amy Dunne.

"I feel in this movie justice was completely done", the actress, who recently gave birth to her second child, revealed, before adding: "They got exactly what they deserved: They got each other."

Julianne, who has been touted as the probable winner for her powerful performance in Still Alice, admitted that the five nominees had become close: "We've all gotten to know each other...it's a great celebration", while Marion, who won an Oscar in 2008 for La Vie En Rose, revealed: "I had never dreamt to have an American career because I didn't think it was possible." - Marion Cotillard

Patricia Arquette, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Boyhood, touched upon her age while discussing her nomination, admitting: "At 46, it really is such a rare and incredible thing."

British actor Eddie Redmayne, who won the Golden Globe earlier in January for his turn as Professor Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything revealed: "I never dream too far in the future, I never raise expectations for a fear of not reaching them", while Foxcatcher star Steve Carell, who is up against Eddie in the Best Actor category discussed taking on the role of the murderous millionaire John du Pont: "It was incredibly scary and that was good."

The Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs later told the nominees during the lunch: "You have used your talents to tell extraordinary stories..."
