As British comedian James Corden gears up for the premiere of his first ever American chat show, the 36-year-old has revealed why Tom Hanks, his first guest for the new show, was the only first guest he wanted. "Someone showed me a video from the Into the Woods junket, and I'm saying, 'Tom Hanks'." admitted James on Monday.
"'I just think he's the perfect movie star'."
Speaking to People magazine ahead of the launch of his first live presenting gig, American talk show program The Late Late Show, James added: "I'm so just overjoyed that he is going to be the first person that I get to talk to on the show.
"I just adore him and am such a fan."
Tom is joined by Jupiter Ascending star Mila Kunis on the couch for Monday's show, which will see James change up the usual American formula for talk show programmes.

Following in the British footsteps of Jonathan Ross and Graham Norton, James will have his guests arrive at the same time and sit together whilst they all discuss their upcoming projects. "I am excited about bringing our guests out at the same time", admitted James.
"That will hopefully not just be great to watch but great to experience as well.
"We tried to create our set as a fun, organic environment, and I hope so much we can pull that off."
James admitted who his ideal guests would be
With Tom and Mila joining James for episode one, James also his sights set on another award winner. "I'm a huge fan of Allison Janney," he told the magazine.
"She is just the most fun person. She's so great. Someone like her is just the perfect person to be on a couch with someone else because it instantly feels interesting.
"Bradley Cooper would be fantastic as well."
