Singleton Calum Scott, 26, has been receiving "a few marriage proposals" on Twitter

The 26-year-old, who is currently single, has certainly had an eventful start to his Britain's Got Talent journey. Calum Scott. had to audition straight after his sister Jade, who received four rejections from the judging panel and was called a "bedroom singer" by Simon.

"I don't agree," said Calum. "My sister is a brilliant singer. She was really, really nervous – I could see that she was so shook up by the nerves. She is determined and was out the next day gigging."

With their mum watching the auditions and seeing one child go through, Calum admitted that it was "tough" for everyone.

"I've got big boots to fill, basically, from previous acts with golden buzzers," said the singer

"I was so ready to just be jumping around and screaming and things like that, but I was so conscious that my sister was there and the last thing I want to do was rub it in," he said. "So I was silently celebrating and then when my mum met me and my sister on the stairs, there was a lot of emotion there and a lot of tears."

As Simon's golden buzzer act, Calum, who sang a cover of Robyn's Dancing On My Own, has been propelled to the live semi-finals. The move has its ups and downs, Calum said.

"I'm backed by Simon and I got his golden buzzer, so I feel like that's a bit of an advantage for me," said Calum. "But definitely the pressure is on because I've got big boots to fill, basically, from previous acts with golden buzzers."
