Olly Murs has hinted to fans that recent speculation he will take over Dermot O'Leary's role as presenter of The X Factor is true. The former Xtra Factor co-presenter told supporters at his gig at the 3Arena in Dublin on Monday evening that he was going to be "on the telly" soon, before crossing his arms to resemble an "X".The singer had been widely tipped as the new host of the entertainment show after Dermot announced he was stepping down, and last week he confirmed he had been in talks about the position.

We worked together years ago and we loved it. Every year there is speculation that I am going to do The X Factor, as a judge or presenter, and I just ignore it."
