Olly Murs suggested he will be taking Dermot O'Leary's role as the presenter of X Factor

He told radio station Spin 1038: "I haven’t got it yet. We've spoken about it in the papers but nothing’s been finalised or nothing's been signed.""We've had had a few discussions, that's about it really. "Initially responding to rumours that he was to present the talent show, Olly spoke during the unveiling of his new waxwork at Madame Tussauds about working on The Xtra Factor with Caroline Flack: "Caroline is great. We worked together years ago and we loved it. Every year there is speculation that I am going to do The X Factor, as a judge or presenter, and I just ignore it."

When it was revealed that Dermot was stepping down from his role on the show, Olly – who rose to fame after appearing on The X Factor as a contestant in 2009 – said he was sad to see him go. "It's so sad to see him leave. Dermot was there for me from day one. Dermot is a personal friend of mine and is someone I get on really well with. "I have known him since 2009 when I did the show as a contestant. It is obviously a massive shame, he has done an incredible eight years but I think it is now time for a new chapter."
