X Factor fans have been given their first look at how Olly Murs will fare in his new role as host. The 30-year-old, who will be co-presenting the new series with Caroline Flack, has called upon budding singers to audition in a promotional video for the show.

In the short video Olly tells fans how starring on The X Factor affected his life, saying: "Five years ago I made the decision to audition and it changed my life forever."

The Never Been Better singer is now selling out arenas, and stands in front of a crowd of screaming fans to encourage fellow musicians to audition on the show.

Olly and Caroline were named as the new X Factor hosts in mid-April, just weeks after Dermot O'Leary announced he was stepping down from the role after "eight wonderful years".

Confirming the news, Olly said he was "incredibly excited and proud" to be returning to the show, adding: "I love the show and it kick-started my career in music which has given me the opportunity to do what I love. I already have the best job in the world and it's about to get better – I can't wait to get started and be part of finding some amazing new talent!"

While Olly's new role on the reality show is confirmed, one thing that is still subject to speculation is who will be joining Simon Cowell on the judging panel.

It was recently suggested that Mel B had been axed from the judging panel after just one year. Meanwhile, Louis Walsh recently hinted that he too could be leaving the show, telling The Seven O'Clock Show: "I think I'm done with X Factor. I've done 11 seasons. That's a long time on television. I think they're going to change the show. I think they're going to get new faces."

However, one judge whose place on the panel is believed to be safe is Cheryl Fernandez-Versini. The brunette beauty is believed to have been offered a lucrative £2million contract to appear in the new series.
