Robert Pattinson celebrates turning 29

May 13, 2015

Happy birthday, Robert Pattinson! As the former Twilight star celebrates turning 29, HELLO! Online takes a look at what the stars have in store for Robert, and you…

This is what Robert, who is a Taurus, can be expecting today:

'Living in the material world, and I am a material girl.' So sang Madonna, but was she telling the truth? This may, indeed, be a material world and we are all material beings. But there are some who would argue that the very act of acknowledging our physical needs and limitations is, in itself, a demonstration of conscious awareness - and that this, ipso facto, is a facility attainable only by the spiritually evolved. Your journey may now be taking you past a quagmire but that doesn't mean you have to jump right into it.

ROBERT PATTINSON

Born in London in 1986, Robert Pattinson initially began a career in modelling at the age of 12, encouraged by his mother. "I had the most unsuccessful modelling career," he once joked.

The Twilight star has admitted that he was never interested in school, but that he was captivated by the theatre after helping out at his local theatre company.

Soon he was on stage himself, and was spotted by an agent during a local production of Tess of D'Ubervilles. He soon moved on to made-for-TV films, and eventually landed the role of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

It was in 2008 though that Robert's life was changed forever, when he was offered the role of Edward Cullen in the then-indie film Twilight. The role shot him to international fame and while he was delighted, he admitted that he found the whole experience "bizarre".

"It is still strange," said the movie heartthrob in 2009. "I just don't get the immediate-recognition thing. I was at the Frankfurt airport yesterday, and people just immediately know who you are. It's never, 'Are you ...?' It's just like, 'Can I have a photo?'."

A romance began between Robert and his co-star Kristen Stewart, although the pair initially insisted that they were just friends. In July 2012, it emerged that Kristen had been unfaithful to Robert, and she issued a heartfelt apology to her boyfriend.

The pair decided to try again, but in 2013 split for good. Robert took the time to focus on his career, and after receiving critical praIse for his performance as a tough, cold hearted and calculating billionaire in David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis, he went on to star in further indie hits, including The Rover, Map to the Stars, and in Wernor Herzog's Queen of the Desert with Nicole Kidman.

In recent weeks, Robert has become the centre of engagement speculation after his girlfriend, the British singer FKA Twigs, was spotted wearing a gorgeous engagement ring.

The pair are thought to have begun dating in the summer of 2014 after being introduced by mutual friends.
