Adam Woodyatt and Kellie Bright were also presented with the Best Actor and Best Actress awards respectively, while Kellie, who plays Linda Carter, was also crowned the Best Dramatic Performance winner.

EastEnders may have dominated the champions' list, but stars from other soaps made headlines for their glamorous appearances on the red carpet.

Natalie Anderson was supported on the night by her husband James Shepherd

Natalie Anderson lost out on two awards but the Emmerdale stunner wowed in the fashion department, taking the plunge in a metallic floor-length gown.

The HELLO! Online blogger, who plays Alicia Metcalfe in the soap, was supported by her doting husband James Shepherd on the night. "Me and my fella @jimsshep @SoapAwards #afterparty xx," wrote Natalie alongside a Twitter photo of the sweet couple letting their hair down after the ceremony.

Flying the flag for Coronation Street, which won two awards in total, was Catherine Tyldesley. Only two months have passed since Catherine gave birth to her and her fiancé Tom Pitford's first baby, but the actress looked incredible in a gorgeous lemon yellow halter-neck style dress.

Rebecca Adlington, who is set to become a mother herself in a couple of weeks, showed off her growing baby bump in a summery white lace top and black skirt. The former Olympic swimmer was looked after by her husband Harry Needs on the night.
