Rochelle Humes 'beyond excited' to be confirmed as The Xtra Factor host

Rochelle Humes and KISS FM Radio DJ, Melvin Odoom have been announced as the new faces of ITV2's The Xtra Factor. The duo will join forces to co-host the hit entertainment show for its brand new series this autumn.The Saturdays star, 26, revealed the news on Twitter and said she was "beyond excited to joining the brilliant X Factor team".

"So excited to land my dream job & with one of my best boys @Melvinodoom! Can't wait to start #XtraFactor @TheXFactor," the mum-of-one revealed.

Talking to ITV about joining the show, Rochelle also said: "I have watched The Xtra Factor for years so I am beyond excited about joining such a brilliant team and getting to work with my old friend Melvin makes it even better. I also can't wait to meet the contestants and be a part of their X Factor experience."

Melvin, who has co-hosted The KISS FM breakfast show for eight years alongside Rickie Haywood Williams, also revealed his excitement.

"Can't wait to start working with my good friend @RochelleHumes and the #XtraFactor team!!! @TheXFactor," he said to his 75,000 Twitter followers.

"I've always been a massive fan of the show and to get to present The Xtra Factor is a dream for me. We are there to support the contestants and have fun – I'm really looking forward to it!," he said to ITV.

The new presenting duo will be in the centre of the action, bringing the fun factor to the search to find a new music star. They will follow the auditions across the country, getting backstage gossip, unveiling unseen footage and getting unprecedented access to The X Factor judges, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Nick Grimshaw, Rita Ora and Simon Cowell.

The X Factor and The Xtra Factor will return this autumn on ITV and ITV2.
