Holly Willoughby's return to This Morning confirmed

July 6, 2015

Holly Willoughby is set to return to This Morning following her maternity leave. The TV presenter left the show last year to welcome her third child, but it looks like Holly will resume her place on the sofa in September.

Her co-host Phillip Schofield announced the news on Twitter, explaining that he couldn't present Monday's show because he was away filming with Holly.

"Not on @itvthismorning today. Spending the day with @hollywills shooting new opening titles, promos and doing i/v's for her Sept return," wrote Phillip alongside a smiley face emoticon.

The veteran presenter, who has featured on the show since 2002, has been temporarily helped out by Amanda Holden while Holly has been on maternity leave.

The star's last appearance presenting on the show was in mid-September 2014 when she bid a temporary farewell to the cast and crew and was surprised with a cake that said "Good luck Holly, we'll miss you!" on it.

Unable to keep her emotions in check, Holly shed a few tears, saying: "I won't be gone forever, just for a bit. I'm feeling quite weird about it."

A few weeks later she announced on Twitter that she and her husband Dan Baldwin had welcomed their third baby, a son Chester. The couple, who married in 2007, are already parents to six-year-old Harry and four-year-old Belle.

Holly was on maternity leave until the spring of 2015, when she returned to work on Celebrity Juice, starring opposite Keith Lemon as a team captain.

The model also resumed her presenting duties on Surprise, Surprise, while also starring in new sports show Play to the Whistle, which aired for seven episodes starting from April.

Speaking about her new bundle of joy and how he has completed the family, Holly told Daily Express: "Since Chester has come along the family feels in a good place. Three just feels like a good number – we're very happy with what we have."
