Fuller House stars enjoy break from filming with 'family day' BBQ

August 10, 2015

John Stamos, Bob Saget and the stars from Fuller House enjoyed a break from filming their Full House remake with a barbeque at the home of their co-star Lori Loughlin on Sunday. The cast appeared to enjoy their downtime together, with many of the stars sharing photos from the gathering on social media.

Jodie Sweetin posted a photo of the group playing frisbee, writing that it was a "fun Full House family day!" Meanwhile other members of the cast enjoyed a dip in the pool, with Bob Saget sharing a photo of himself, John Stamos and David Coulier, captioned: "I'm not saying who but someone in this picture poop'd in the pool. @dcoulier."

Bob posted another photo of the entire group gathered around a long table next to the pool, writing: "Not quite the last supper. @dcoulier @loriloughlin @candacecbure @johnstamos @adam.saget #ScottWeinger #ValBure."

The barbeque was a family affair – Candace Cameron Bure was joined by her husband, Russian hockey player Valeri Bure, and their daughter Natasha, while Dave's wife Melissa Coulier also cosied up to her husband's co-stars for a photo.

"Pool party pals! Love you @candacecbure and @melissacoulier," Jodie Sweetin wrote.

Two famous faces who were noticeably absent from the pool party were Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who starred in the original Full House series when they were children. They have decided not to reprise their role as Michelle Tanner in Fuller House, but Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarondos says there is still plenty of opportunity for the twins to change their minds.

"The Olsen twins are teetering [on] whether or not they'll be around," he explained at the Television Critics Association's press tour. "There's a bunch of opportunity for them if they choose to. But they're not in the current creative."

Meanwhile at the same event John Stamos admitted that he had once tried to get the twins sacked from the popular sitcom.

"It's sort of true that the Olsen twins cried a lot," John revealed. "It was very difficult to get the shot. So I [gesturing], 'Get them out…!' That is actually 100 percent accurate. They brought in a couple of unattractive redheaded kids.

"We tried that for a while and that didn't work. [Producers] were like, all right, get the Olsen twins back. And that's the story."

The actor also confirmed that he has already filmed two episodes of the highly-anticipated new series, but would not give away any more details about what viewers can expect when it airs on Netflix in 2016.
