Britney Spears and Mariah Carey both confirm roles in big TV shows

Britney Spears is heading back to TV. The singer confirmed this week that she will be making a special appearance in the new season of hit comedy Jane the Virgin. "See u at the Marbella Hotel soon, @hereisgina @jaimecamil! Guest starring on one of my favourite shows EVER @CWJaneTheVirgin #DreamComeTrue," Britney tweeted at stars Gina Rodriguez and Jaime Camil.Golden Globe winner Gina, who plays the lead role, wasted no time in replying. "Literally fell out of my chair @britneyspears I cannot wait to work with you beauty! I'm covered in goosebumps. This is unreal!!!"

Britney has made a number of cameo TV appearances before – including on How I Met Your Mother in 2008 and Will & Grace in 2006. But she is an especially big fan of the CW series. "I get really into Jane the Virgin," she previously told People. "It's fun. "Britney isn't the only big music star heading for the small screen – Mariah Carey is set to make a cameo in Empire."That rumour is true," Jussie Smollett – who plays Jamal Ly in the drama series - has confirmed to HELLO!. "That makes me feel so good to say that rumour is true!"

Of his new co-star, he added: "She's just the best. She says 'darling' a lot. But I say 'darling' too as a joke, so it works perfectly. This friendship works very well. "She's a good human being and a really sweet lady," he continued. "Don't get me wrong, she's a diva. I said to her, 'Do you own flats?' She's like, 'Darling, no.' Okay. That's why she has dope calf muscles! (She has) the greatness of a diva but (she is also) the regular, chill girl that you just want to chill with."
