Peter Andre gears up for Strictly with 'awesome' Janette Manrara

September 22, 2015

Only three days remain until Strictly Come Dancing returns to TV for the thirteenth series of the popular show. In the lead-up, celebrity contestant Peter Andre has shared his excitement by posting a glitzy snap on Instagram.

Peter, who is married to trainee doctor Emily MacDonagh, gave a special mention to his "awesome" teacher and professional dance partner Janette Manrara.

"Our official photo :)) with the most awesome teacher @jmanrara," the Mysterious Girl singer captioned the snap.

Peter Andre said of his dance partner Janette Manrara: "She's very funny and very strict"

Peter, 42, looked ready to take to the dance floor in a sequin studded top, a flashy short-sleeved jacket and a pair of dark trousers. Janette, whose favourite dances are the rumba and the traditional quickstep, showed off her enviable dancer's figure in a shimmery leotard and a short fringed skirt.

The partnerships were announced last month, and will see 15 celebrities compete with their professional dancers for the coveted glitterball trophy.

In a video released by the BBC at the start of rehearsals, Peter and 32-year-old Janette were seen practising their moves in the studio.

Strictly Come Dancing will return to screens on Friday

"Janette is very funny, which I love," said Peter. "And very strict. I know she's strict not in a way of being arrogant, she's strict in the way of, 'We do it again, we do it again.' She does it in a kind way.

"It makes me feel comfortable and I turned it around into me actually thinking, 'How strict is she going to be with me?' to thinking, 'Don't let her down. Do this one right so she goes yeah, do it so she gives you a high-five at the end.'"

"Today is about him knowing me, me knowing him and finding our groove," laughed Janette.

Strictly returns to BBC One on Friday 25 September at 9pm.
