Tom Bleasby quits The X Factor

Tom Bleasby has decided to pull out of The X Factor, just days after making it through to the judges' houses stage of the competition. The 19-year-old from Leeds said he had chosen to withdraw "due to personal reasons"."I just don't know if I felt vocally ready to take on the competition and the pressure," Tom told ITV. "This isn't the end, it's just a new beginning. It just wasn't right for me at this time."

On Sunday, viewers saw Tom win a place in Nick Grimshaw's final six boys in the six chair challenge. He initially lost his seat to Ben Clarke, but judge Nick changed his mind due to the crowd's overwhelming reaction. He brought Tom back and swapped him with Nathanael Landskroner.Hours after the episode aired, Tom tweeted to his fans: "You are literally watching on TV the worst experience of my life."

He later returned to social media to announce his shock decision to leave the show. "Due to personal reasons I have decided to withdraw from The X Factor," he wrote. "Thank you to all the judges, especially Nick for his belief in me. "I want to wish all the contestants the best of luck and thank you to the public for supporting me and my dream. "A spokesperson for the X Factor said: "We can confirm that Tom Bleasby has chosen to withdraw from the competition due to personal reasons."

Tom's departure comes a week after he appeared on Ellen DeGeneres' chat show to talk about his viral virtual duet with Jessie J. Tom used a karaoke app to make it look like he was singing with Jessie, and the YouTube video has been watched more than 11 million times since it was posted in May.Ellen surprised Tom by bringing Jessie on to the show as he began to sing her hit song Flashlight.
