Sir Bruce Forsyth to make Strictly return for Children in Need

October 13, 2015

He left Strictly Come Dancing in 2014 but Sir Bruce Forsyth promised that he would return for special appearances. His spot presenting the Children in Need episode has once again been reserved for next month, when he will be reunited with his partner in crime Tess Daly.

Sir Bruce, 87, is recovering after a fall he suffered at home last week. The veteran presenter had a minor concussion and was taken to hospital, where he given doctors' orders to rest for seven days.

The entertainer – widely known for his catchphrase "Nice to see you, to see you, nice" – had to pull out of presenting his BBC variety show Bruce's Hall Of Fame. He is expected to be well enough to return to the Strictly set for the Children in Need special on Friday 13 November.

Strictly's annual Children in Need special will return to screens on Friday 13 November

Shortly after leaving Strictly last year, Sir Bruce gave an exclusive interview to HELLO! magazine, speaking about his emotional departure.

"Part of me has to be sad because, when you work on something in television for ten years, you become a family and when you say goodbye to that family there is always a tear in the eye," said Sir Bruce.

"So it's hard to say goodbye, of course it is. But I'm leaving because, although I could hang on, I felt it was right not only for me but for the show."

"Now I have the relief that I don't have to do it anymore," he added, as he planned to spend more time with his wife Wilnelia and family. "I would have hated to have carried on and then had to stop because I wasn't feeling well enough."

The Children in Need special will air on Friday 13 November at 7:30pm on BBC One.
