Jamelia has become the eighth contestant to be voted off Strictly Come Dancing after the live show in Blackpool's Tower Ballroom. Speaking about her experience, the singer said: "I’m sorry to go but I do have to say that I’ve had the most fantastic time. "The judges chose to eliminate Jamelia from the competition after she was in the dance off against Peter Andre. The TV presenter and her professional dance partner Tristan MacManus, who have been in the dance off several times this series, performed a quickstep to The Monkees’ song I’m a Believer in a bid to impress the judges.

Following their lively performance Peter and his partner Janette Manrara did a jive to River Deep Mountain High by Tina Turner.Although both couples put in great performances three of the four judges chose to save Peter. Fourth judge Len Goodman, however, disagreed with his colleagues.
Asked if he would have sent Jamelia home, the former pro dancer replied: "Funnily enough no I didn’t I thought Jamelia and Tristan did a very very fine quickstep and I would have brought you back"

Speaking to host Tess Daley about her Strictly experience the 34-year-old said: "I’ve danced at the Tower Ballroom and I’ve danced with Tristan MacManus a million times! I just feel so fortunate to have had this experience and I hope that I’ve shown people that if you are determined and if you work hard then you can surpass whatever you think.
I thought I was only going to get to week three and be gone, but I’m here at the Tower Ballroom and made it to Blackpool, I’m happy!
"I’ve said it over and over again, I could not have had a better partner than Tristan, he’s so fantastic, so positive and he really has believed in me. It’s down to him why I’ve made it all the way to Blackpool, thank you!"Tristan added: "Jamelia’s done great and even tonight, it was a completely different dance we’ve just done and unfortunately someone else did a completely different dance as well, it was unbelievable!
"Again, first and foremost we are dance teachers, we compete and what we want to do is pass on some sort of information to someone and the improvement in Jamelia every week has been unbelievable and I couldn’t be more proud."
