Professor Green has revealed his excitement at working with Mel B on a surprising new project. The I Need You Tonight rapper is set to make his television presenting debut as he joins the Spice Girl to co-host Lip Sync Battle UK on Channel 5.

Speaking of his decision to join the show, the rapper – real name Stephen Manderson – said: "When the chance to work with Mel B came up the answer was obviously a yes. The fact I'd be her co-host on Lip Sync Battle was also exciting.

"Jokes aside I'm very excited about filming the first series – having spent a good while on YouTube watching the US show I'm looking forward to seeing what our guests bring to the table!"

Meanwhile former X Factor judge Mel said she "can't wait" to see the contestants "give it their all" in the miming competition.

"It's great to be asked to present this show," Mel said. "Who doesn't love letting out their inner diva? The US version has me in fits of laughter and I can't wait to see the UK show contestants give it their all. I'll be sure to keep everyone in line."

Lip Sync Battle has been hugely popular since it launched in the United States, with stars including Anne Hathaway, Dwayne Johnson and Justin Bieber lining up to compete in the show, hosted by LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen.

The idea was originally formed by Stephen Merchant, John Krasinski and his wife Emily Blunt for a segment on US TV show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and continues to feature on The Tonight Show.
