Rebecca Adlington is returning to our TV screens

January 16, 2016

Rebecca Adlington is set to star in the new series of the challenging reality TV show, The Jump. The Olympic swimmer has signed up to take part in the competition that sees celebrities take on ski-related activities, such as the giant ski slalom, the bobsleigh and the skeleton, with each episode’s worst performing celebrity having to do a terrifying ski jump.Joining Rebecca in the line-up will be former Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding, Made In Chelsea star Mark-Francis Vandelli and singer and TV presenter Brian McFadden.

Rebecca will be starring in this year's series of The Jump

This isn’t Rebecca’s first reality TV show, she took part in I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here in 2013. The mum-of-one, who came sixth in the competition, revealed that she found the TV show difficult as it highlighted some of her body insecurities. No doubt she will be more suited to The Jump, and it will allow her to harness and utilise her sporting prowess and determination, that won her a bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympics. As the show is filmed in the Austrian Alps, Rebecca will have to leave behind her seven-month-old daughter Summer. The little girl and the athlete’s husband, Harry Needs, will no doubt be cheering on 26-year-old from their sofa, and sending her loving messages of support.

Rebecca will be joined by Brian McFadden, Sarah Harding and Mark-Francis Vandelli

Rebecca won’t be the only Olympic star to take to the ski jump, she will also be joined by sprinting Gold medallist Linford Christie and Bronze medal winning gymnast Beth Tweddle. The full line up includes: The Only Way is Essex star James Argent, socialite Tamara Beckwith, actor Dean Cain, former Eastenders actress Louisa Lytton and Holby City star Tina Hobley. This year’s celebrities will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Joe McElderry and Joey Essex, to win the coveted Cowbell Trophy.
