Some of Hollywood's biggest names have touched down in the South of France in preparation for Cannes Film Festival, which kicks off on Wednesday. Leading the way was Blake Lively, who displayed her flawless maternity style as she made her way through Nice airport in a white trench and co-ordinating trousers.

The mum-to-be will walk the red carpet at the premiere of her new film Café Society, which opens the film festival on Wednesday night. Kristen Stewart also stars in the Woody Allen film, and cut a casual figure as she arrived in France on Tuesday.

Other famous faces spotted making their way through Nice airport's star-studded arrivals hall include Kirsten Dunst, Vanessa Paradis and Bella Hadid. L'Oreal ambassadors Julianne Moore, Naomi Watts and Eva Longoria have also arrived for the festival, while Cheryl is expected to join them over the coming days.

It is believed that the 32-year-old could make an appearance with her boyfriend Liam Payne, just days after the pair made their red carpet debut at the Global Gift Gala in Paris.

Eva, who presented Cheryl with the award at Monday's Gala, waved happily to fans upon her arrival in Cannes – offering a glimpse at the stunning ruby and diamond encrusted engagement ring presented to her by fiancé Jose Antonio Bastion in December.

The 69th annual Cannes Film Festival will take place between 11 and 22 May. A total of 21 feature-length films are competing to win the covetable Palme d'Or prize. In the running are Neon Demon, starring Elle Fanning, Marion Cotillard's new film From the Land of the Moon and The Last Face, which sees Sean Penn take the helm as director while his former fiancé Charlize Theron plays the leading role.
