Is Matt LeBlanc planning to quit Top Gear?

June 26, 2016

Matt LeBlanc is allegedly planning to quit the motor show Top Gear if his co-host Chris Evans isn't let go first. According to sources, the atmosphere behind-the-scenes of the show is "frosty."

A source revealed to Sun on Sunday: "The team does not gel and the atmosphere between the presenters is frosty. Matt's indicated he won't continue on any further series if Chris remains. He is far from the only one who is not happy."

Insiders have revealed Matt is unhappy with the show

Matt's representatives told The Sun that nothing had been "discussed or decided" regarding the rumours, while the BBC refused to comment on the reports.

Matt announced he would be joining the Top Gear team following the original presenters departure from the show in February, saying: "As a car nut and a massive fan of Top Gear, I'm honoured and excited to be a part of this iconic show's new chapter. What a thrill!"

At the time, Chris wrote: "Matt's a lifelong fellow petrolhead and I'm thrilled he's joining Top Gear. Acting out our craziest car notions on screen is a dream job and I know we’ll both be debating some epic road trip ideas. We can’t wait to share what we've been up to on screen later this year."

Matt's representatives have said nothing has been "discussed or decided"

Meanwhile, the original three presenters, James May, Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson, have signed up for a new show on Amazon Prime. Jeremy said: "I feel like I've climbed out of a bi-plane and into a spaceship," while James said: "We have become part of the new age of smart TV. Ironic, isn't it?"

Jay Marine, vice president of Amazon Prime Video EU, said: "We can't wait to see what Jeremy, Richard, James and the team will create in what is sure to be one of the most globally anticipated shows of 2016."
