The first trailer for the new-look X Factor has been unveiled, and it's everything fans could hope for. The clip centres around an audition by gym instructor/ McDonald's manager Beck Martin as he performs his own track, Friday Night, for judges Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh.

And while the panel are initially sceptical – especially when they see that Beck has brought in his own dry ice machine – it doesn't take long for them to get on board with the dance song. Returning host Dermot O'Leary can be seen having a mini rave as he sings along to the catchy track, Nicole gets up and dances on the table, the production crew all join in, and even Simon has a little dance (almost).

It's the first time that viewers have seen the new 2016 judging panel in action, following the departure of last year's judges Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw, and hosts Caroline Flack and Olly Murs.

It was also revealed this week that Matt Edmonson will be taking over from Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom, fronting the ITV2 spin-off show, The Xtra Factor.

Shortly after the news was announced, Matt said in a statement: "I am unbelievably excited about joining The Xtra Factor this year, not least because on my first day Louis Walsh walked into my dressing room topless, unannounced. I regard this as the definition of living the dream."
