It's been more than 13 years since Cold Feet last appeared on our screens, and now fans are gearing up for its eagerly awaited return to ITV in the autumn. Producers have remained tight-lipped over what we can expect from the new series – but the first publicity shot shows the cast are over-the-moon about the reunion.
All we know for now is that the friends will be brought back together when Adam returns to Manchester after working abroad. Hermione Norris, who plays Karen Marsden, recently opened up to HELLO! Magazine about her concerns over the reboot, and why she couldn't resist it.
Cold Feet will be back later this year
In an exclusive interview, Hermione, 49, explained: "It felt like only yesterday, but it first started 20 years ago, so you keep remembering where you were at that time. It was a totally different life – I wasn't married, I didn't have children. But I'd much rather be where I am now than where I was back then, any day."
Hermione insisted that husband Simon Wheeler and their children Wilf, 12, and eight-year-old Hero, are now the most important things in her life, but the temptation of reprising the role of Karen was too much.
Hermione Norris has talked to HELLO! about the long-awaited return of Cold Feet
She continued: "I didn't want to undo anything we'd done – the series was so loved. If we made it, it had to be really good. But Karen is mine, you know. She's mine."
Viewers are going to see a very different side to the much-loved characters, and creator Mike Bullen added: "This feels like the right time to revisit them, as they tiptoe through the minefield of middle age!"
