Michelle Keegan plays army medic in new trailer for Our Girl

Michelle Keegan stole the show in the trailer for the series two trailer of BBC One drama Our Girl, where she plays an army medic who embarks on a six-week humanitarian mission which becomes more complicated than expected.

In the brief teaser trailer of the drama, Michelle's character, Georgie, is told "we need a medic. You fit the bill," before she is seen reassuring her boyfriend of the mission, telling him "you won't even know I'm gone" before the scene changes to show Georgie in grave danger as another character shouts her name.

Michelle appeared in the trailer for series two of BBC drama Our Girl

The Coronation Street star opened up about preparing for Our Girl at the National Television Awards this year, joking about the training involved in the role. She said: "I start Our Girl next month which I'm looking forward to…I've been busy but a nice busy. I've been trying to hit the gym, you know I hate it!

She continued to speak about her research for the role, saying: "I've been meeting female medics to hear their side of the story and what they've been through which has helped a lot."

Michelle will be playing an army medic

The 29-year-old has taken over as the lead role in the show from Eastenders actress Lacey Turner, but will be playing a different character. The full series one aired back in 2014, and fans have been expressing their excited to see the return of the drama. One person tweeted: "new series looks really good! But I hope Molly will return some time in the future," while another wrote: "Music to our ears! We can't wait! Fabulous to see Ben Aldridge back as Captain James!"

Michelle herself tweeted the trailer, excitedly captioning her post with: "ITS COMING…#OurGirl"
