August 17, 2016

Mark your diaries, The X Factor is making a return to screens in just over a week! The 13th series of the ITV entertainment show will get underway on 27 and 28 August with Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh reunited to judge the latest batch of auditions.

The popular judges have given us a taste of what we can expect from their return in the latest trailer for the show, which sees them singing along to the Girls Aloud song Something Kinda Ooh.

Simon, Louis, Sharon and Nicole are returning to The X Factor

They are not the only familiar faces making a return to The X Factor; Dermot O'Leary is also resuming presenting duties after Caroline Flack and Olly Murs received mixed feedback for their time hosting the show.

It appears the judges are slipping straight back into their old roles judging by the categories they have been chosen to mentor.

The Daily Star reports that, for the sixth time in his 12 years as a judge, Louis, 63, has the groups. Louis has only won the show once, way back in 2005 with Shayne Ward, so he'll undoubtedly be hoping for a strong pool of talent from the groups this year.

The show returns to screens on 27 and 28 August

Former Pussycat Doll Nicole, 38, will mentor the boys' category this year, something she probably knows a thing or two about after guiding both James Arthur and Jahmene Douglas to the final in 2012, with James being crowned the eventual winner.

And 63-year-old Sharon is back with the Over 25s, after storming to victory with Sam Bailey in the same group in 2013. The only actual surprise is the fact that Simon Cowell has the girls for the first time ever.
