The nation's favourite show is FINALLY back after a long year's wait, with a record-breaking 11.2 million people tuning in to watch The Great British Bake Off's twelve new contestants bake their hearts out to impress Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood. Many famous faces joined in on the fun and tweeted their reactions while watching the quintessentially British show.
From expressing their delight about the show's return to joking about the contestants; celebrities from Fearne Cotton to Gogglebox's Scarlett Moffatt took to social media to share their thoughts on the latest series of the immensely popular BBC show.
Giovanna shared a snap of Tom watching the show
Zoella tweeted about how she was already delighted at the return of the show before the episode began, writing: "words can't express how happy I am that #GBBO is back on my telebox" while Giovanna Fletcher shared a snap of herself watching the episode with her husband Tom, writing: "insta of an insta... #GBBO SO EXCITED! Xxx."
Fearne Cotton tweeted her excited at contestant Tom's idea to make a drizzle cake with gin, joking: "gin drizzle…now we are talking! #GBBO," while Vicky Pattinson wrote: "I knew Mary Berry was my spirit animal… You see her eyes light up when that geezer said he's popping gin in his drizzle?!"
But the famous faces on Twitter were most excited to talk about Selasi – a contestant who instantly won the hearts of the audience at home after dealing with his baking mistakes in a laid back, calm manner.
Social media star TechnicallyRon wrote: "I wish I was child about ANYTHING the way Selasi is chilled about cakes," while Samuel West wrote: "We're all going to fall a bit in love with Salasi, aren't we? Smiling like that while he calmly forgets things…"
