Eva Longoria has revealed that she will be directing the third episode of Golden Globe-nomination Jane the Virgin's upcoming third season. The former Desperate Housewives actress shared the news on social media, revealing that she "can't wait" to get started.
The 41-year-old post a snap of the front of a script on Twitter, which reads: "Jane the Virgin. Episode #303. Chapter Forty-Seven." Accompanying the snap, she wrote: "Ohhhhh can't wait! Jane the Virgin get ready!"

Fans were quick to share their excitement at the news, with one writing: "incredibly proud and happy for you! You never fail to inspire me," while another wrote: "it's gonna be incredible. Can't wait."
This will not be Eva's first time as a director, as she has already directed an episode of comedy-drama Devious Maids, which she also produces, as well as short documentary Go, Sebastian, Go!
Cast members of the comedy-drama have also shared their reaction to the news, with Jaime Camil, who plays Jane's father, sharing a snap from the show's hotel set which shows Eva's on a card under a 'check in' sign, writing: "Guess who is checking into the Marbella Hotel this season?#JaneTheVirgin," while the show's star Gina Rodrigeuz retweeted Eva's announcement.
Eva said she "can't wait" to direct the episode
Loosely based on a Spanish telenovela, Jane the Virgin follows a young, religious woman named Jane who, after promising to save herself until marriage, gets accidentally artificially inseminated, leading to a love triangle between her fiancé Michael (Brett Dier), and the father of her child, Raphael (Justin Baldoni).
The cast are clearly delighted to be back filming the show, as Gina and her co-stars have been sharing sneak peeks of the set with fans. In one photo, Gina is posing with her onscreen son, Mateo, and Justin, writing: "How baby Mateo looks at Baby Daddy."
In another snap, the star shared a photo of herself wearing a wig for the show after shaving part of her hair for a film role, writing: "God it feels good to be home #janethevirgin #seasonthree."
