Louis Walsh has opened up about why he'll never have his own Twitter account, despite Rylan Clark's determination to begin one for him. The manager playfully argued with the new host of the Xtra Factor at the press launch for the upcoming series of the popular singing competition.
The manager, who will be reprising his role as a judge on The X Factor this year, joked that he was a "loose cannon" and so he couldn't begin a Twitter account in case he said what he "really thought."
Louis joked about why he could never be on Twitter
He said: "I say how I really feel and sometimes people don't like that."
Rylan then promised he would start one for the judge, saying: "I'm saying it now. Our aim on Xtra Factor is to get Louis on Twitter. We're going to get you a Twitter account, you cannot say no.
Ignoring Louis' objections, he continued: "We've said it now we'll look like mugs…we'll set it up on your phone I know your pin."
Louis then jokily concluded that he might eventually open an account, saying: "We'll see. I'll have to talk to my lawyers."
Rylan revealed that Louis helped him get the job
Rylan then revealed that it was Louis who helped him get the Xtra Factor gig, which he will be co-presenting with Matt Edmonson. When asked which judge will have the winning act this year, Matt said: "I'm genuinely delighted to have Louis back…so I think this might be the year of Louis. He's the coolest of the X Factor," while Rylan said: "I'm team [Nicole Scherzinger] till I die, but you did get me the job Louis! Louis did bully Simon for like three years."
Louis confirmed that he persuaded Simon Cowell to give Rylan the coveted gig, saying: "I just suggested it. I said 'he's going to be great!' Simon doesn't know Rylan as much as we do because he wasn't there when we worked with him on the show with Gary Barlow…we know how funny he is and he's intelligent as well."
