Mel B has returned to the X Factor to act as a judge in Nicole Scherzinger's place after she was unable to attend several auditions in London due to a schedule clash. The former Spice Girls band member showed her rapport with fellow judges Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh as she revealed what she was looking for in the latest series.

Arriving in London in a bold orange laced dress, the star said: "I'm looking forward to that one contestant just giving it their all.

"The look, the attitude, the voice. If they haven't got what it takes – don't waste my time!"

She was then shown walking to the audition room arm in arm with Louis while chatting about the upcoming shows, saying: "I expect good people – I haven't flown here for nothing!" to which Simon quickly joked: "I know that, I got the bill."

This year's series has also seen the return of Louis, Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger as judges, and Dermot O'Leary as the presenter after he was briefly replaced by presenting duo Caroline Flack and Olly Murs. The 43-year-old revealed that Simon personally asked him to take his old job back, telling The Sun that Simon said: "I've back a mistake, I'd love to get you back."

Speaking about returning as presenter, Dermot said: "I'm very flattered to be asked back, and am currently dusting off my dancing shoes. There is nothing more exciting than hosting live TV on a Saturday night. The show is naturally very close to my heart, after having hosted it for eight years. I'm excited to be back."
