Rupert Grint looks nothing like Ron Weasley on set of new TV show

September 14, 2016

Rupert Grint looked worlds apart from his Harry Potter character Ron Weasley as he filmed his new TV show Snatch. The actor was pictured on set in Manchester, being viciously attacked by gangsters in one scene.

Rupert plays posh boy Charlie Cavendish in the TV remake of Guy Ritchie's 2000 film of the same name.

Wearing a cream three-piece suit, blue shirt and red bow tie, Rupert, 28, looked every inch the con man.

The flame-haired star was spotted dashing around the streets as the camera rolled, while also having his hair and make-up retouched in between scenes.

He will be joined in the new TV series by former Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick, who will play Sonny Castillo, and former Skins star Luke Pasqualino, who will play Albert Hall. Viewers will recognise Luke as Michelle Keegan's love interest in Our Girl which aired last week.

Snatch will be released in 2017 by the Sony-owned streaming service Crackle, which is currently unavailable in the UK. Speaking to The Independent, a spokesperson for Crackle said that the show would likely air on home soil "at some point".

Much like the award-winning cult show Fargo, Snatch will follow the same model and pick up from the original Snatch film. It will use the thriller as a jumping off point to introduce new characters and plotlines.

In a statement, Crackle said the ten-episode series would "carry the spirit of the setting in the original feature film, while creating a new world born from the original movie".
