September 22, 2016

Many viewers of the hugely popular BBC baking show The Great British Bake Off, were left in tears on Wednesday night after Val was selected to leave the show and signed off with a touching speech. The 66-year-old was a firm fan favourite due to her controversial baking methods, and fans of the baker took to social media to share their thoughts over her departure.

Val was the latest contest to leave GBBO

"When you bake, you always bake for a reason. And you're giving it to people, so you make it the best you can. And you make it with love. Whenever I make anything, I stir love into it, I knead love into it, so when I present it, it's special.

"I'm not unhappy. I've had a great time with some great people. I didn't expect to ever get here, never mind be on it."
