Michelle Keegan has confirmed she will be returning for a third series of Our Girl. The 29-year-old actress, who has been praised for her portrayal of medic Lance Corporal Georgie Lane in the BBC drama, announced the news on Twitter on Wednesday evening, sharing a teaser trailer in which she can be heard saying: "Husbands? They're overrated. I've got something much more important. I have a job to do."
Michelle shared the big news moments after the final for season two aired, which showed Georgie poised to choose between the two men in her life – Jamie and Elvis. Ultimately, she makes the decision to stay in the army and dedicate her life to her job.

The star shared a teaser trailer on Twitter shortly after the series two finale aired
Michelle took over from EastEnders actress Lacey Turner to play the lead female in series two of Our Girl. She spent eight weeks in South Africa filming for the role earlier this year, and clearly relished the experience.
"I had the best time," she told The Express in September. "We were there for two months and I thought I'd get homesick, but I loved every single second."
Michelle thanked her fans and co-stars
The star put in months of research to play Georgie, but she added, "Nothing can prepare you. The guns, for example. They're so heavy and scary. You just don't realise. You have to hold it in a certain way - the power of them is unbelievable."
