Gogglebox stars Steph and Dom have officially confirmed they have left the popular Channel 4 show, claiming it was purely their "decision" to do so.

The posh couple, who have appeared in the reality TV series since the start, told The Sun that "everyone" should get the chance to appear on the much-talked-about show.

"We think it's important that everyone gets their chance to be on Gogglebox and give their opinion," the TV favourites said. "Having been on it from the beginning we felt like we'd pretty much said all we needed to say, and we knew what we were going say."

"You can have too much of a good thing, so you can't overdo it, we just felt it was time," added Steph. "We've got other projects and not a lot of time. We're very busy and filming at the hotel was pretty tough."

She continued: "I'm so touched that people have been missing us, because I think there are some incredibly funny characters on there so the fact we're missed is quite a big deal for us. We do still watch it and we enjoy the new characters."

When they are not indulging in G&T's, Steph and Dom run the Salutation, an upmarket B&B in Kent. Past guests have included good friend Prince Andrew, comedian James Corden, and Hollywood actresses Anna Kendrick and Emily Blunt.

The lovable pair - who have children Max and Honor, as well as beloved pet pooch Gigi - are firm favourites with viewers of the Channel 4 series thanks to their plummy accents and outspoken opinions.
