Danny Baker is due to enter the jungle on I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here as a latecomer with Martin Roberts, and the radio star spoke about the challenges he is looking forward to facing on the show and beating cancer six years after his diagnosis in 2011.
The father-of-three recently confirmed he was cancer free, tweeting in early October: "'Six years ago I was diagnosed with no doubt, big time, proper full on cancer. Of the head & neck! But I'm all clear now. It's beatable. #NHS."
Danny will be entering the jungle with Martin
Speaking about the disease before entering the jungle, he said: "There is no comparison (with doing this at all. I had no life lessons (after cancer), I beat it."
Speaking about his decision to enter the reality TV show, he said: "I've got exhaustive showbiz anecdotes and 311 show tunes that will keep everybody amused up to the point where they want to strangle me.
"I am annoyingly ebullient and I am not a person to show the 'real me' or anything as dreary as that. I think I will be good for morale."
The 59-year-old also revealed that the Bushtucker Trials won't be a problem for him as he doesn't have any phobias.
Danny spoke about keeping the news a secret
"The shocking thing is I don't have any phobias", he revealed. "Being buried underground with cockroaches falling over you is not something that crosses your mind or you have experience of! I am just going to let it happen like a hurricane."
Danny recently denied reports that he was entering the jungle, tweeting: "Sitting here seeing I am going in the Jungle next week. Chums, the very idea is preposterous. And to people I'm now working with: calm down," and joked about how much he enjoyed keeping it a secret.
"The fun is not telling anyone," he admitted. "I haven't told anybody, but I don't know how they are going to react when they realise I am not around.
"I've got several big projects on and it's not going to be helpful I am disappearing!"
