Gogglebox fan favourite Reverend Kate Bottley has noticeably been missing from the popular Channel 4 show, leaving fans to wonder whether she has quit the series or not. But luckily, the TV star took to her Twitter page this week to address why she and her husband Graham have not been taking part in the show for the past few weeks.
Responding to a fan's question, the vicar - who lives in Blyth with her family - tweeted: "Hi, our daughter has her GCSES so we needed a break from the cameras." Kate has become a huge hit on the show thanks to her funny remarks and tea cosies, she has even been dubbed as the "nation's favourite vicar".

It was recently announced that the television personality will appear on the celebrity version of the BBC 2 quiz show, Mastermind, which sees four contestants battle it out for the coveted Mastermind Trophy. Earlier this year, she also filmed a BBC documentary on the subject of the New Testament’s ultimate traitor, Judas Iscariot.
During an interview with the Telegraph, Kate opened up about her decision to take part in the award-winning Gogglebox. "People say to me, 'you're just like Dawn French' [in The Vicar of Dibley], but she's not a vicar," she explained. "She's a brilliant actress. So I thought it was an opportunity to show that vicars are just normal people."

Meanwhile, Kate is not the first star from Gogglebox who has gone on to work on other exciting projects - Scarlett Moffatt is taking part in this year's series of I'm A Celebrity. The 26-year-old first propelled into the limelight when she appeared on the third series alongside her family. Since then, she has gone onto publish her first book, entitled Scarlett Says, as well as landing a radio presenting job at Capital FM. Scarlett has also released her first fitness DVD, Scarlett's SuperSlim Me Plan.
