Game of Thrones will come to an end with season eight in 2018, and the cast have already spoken about how they will celebrate surviving to the final season (if they make it that far!).

Since the show has a reputation of killing off main characters and so not even the protagonists are safe, not all of the group who have had starring roles since season one are guaranteed to make it to season eight. However, Sophie Turner revealed that the 'survivors' intend to get matching tattoos should they make it that far. Chatting to Vulture, the actress who plays Sansa Stark in the hit show said: "I think the plan is for everyone to get matching tattoos if we survive to season eight. That's the plan. But that doesn't necessarily mean that I'm in there!" She then said that anyone who doesn't quite make it to the end can get temporary inkings instead. "Preferably on our faces," she joked. "On our foreheads. Like a gang-style tat. Perfect. Then I'm good to go. Life's made. Job's done. I could die happy now."

Sophie revealed that the cast plan to get matching tattoos

Should Sophie's character make it to the final season, this will be the star's second tattoo inking which is related to Game of Thrones. She and her co-star Maisie Williams, who plays her onscreen sister Arya Stark, had matching tattoos done to mark their time together on the show. "We've always kind of said we wanted matching tattoos," the star told E!. She revealed that the pair both have the date "07.08.09" inked onto their arms marking the day that they both found out they had been cast.

The final season will air in 2018

The 19-year-old recently opened up about what viewers can expect from her character in season seven. She told Vulture: "This is so much more Dark Sansa. When she changed her outfit, that was just the first hint that she was ready to start playing the game. That was a mild version of Dark Sansa, and now it's really starting to feel like there is a dark side to her. She's playing the game now, and very ruthlessly. When she wants something, she's going to go out and get it."
