They are set to return to our television screens for a Christmas special on Boxing Day. And ahead of the highly anticipated comeback, Outnumbered child stars Ramona Marquez, 15, Daniel Roche, 17, and Tyger Drew Honey, 20, gave viewers quite the shock with their "grown up" appearance on Thursday's instalment of This Morning.

"#OutnumberedChristmasSpecial They all look so grown up! With such deep voices! @thismorning," one fan tweeted, while another noted: "Oh my!! Seeing the #Outnumbered kids grown makes me feel old but it is 9 years since it first started and nobody stays young forever."

Outnumbered child stars shocked viewers with their "grown up" appearance on This Morning

The beloved actors, who propelled into the limelight after finding fame on the BBC TV show in 2007, opened up about how much has changed for them over the years – even though they still bicker on set. Tyger, who stars as Jake Brockman, explained: "What made Outnumbered so brilliant in the first place is that they say, 'Don't work with children and animals', and the director threw that out the window! We were children and we’ve all evolved. We do argue on set the same way we argue off set."

Earlier this year, the stars caused a stir on social media after Ramona posted a picture of the trio. Speaking about the attention it caused, the actress - who plays Karen Brockman - added: "I just thought my Instagram followers would enjoy it but obviously I didn't really think about the rest of the world, so it wasn’t weird for them but for me."

Daniel (Ben Brockman) continued: "We spoke about it at the reunion and we joked about it, but when it actually happened we weren’t that surprised. Then it intensified and memes started. I really liked that and thought it was hilarious!"

Outnumbered first aired in 2007, and ran for seven years and five series before its final episode in March 2014. It also starred Hugh Dennis and Claire Skinner as Pete and Sue Brockman, a father and mother outnumbered by their three children.
