A documentary looking at the relationship between Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds aired in the US on HBO last night, and gave fans an insight into their wonderful mother and daughter relationship.

The show was aired just one day after the pair, who died one day apart from each other, were laid to rest in a joint funeral on Friday. Filmed over a two-year period in 2014 and 2015, the HBO documentary looked at the relationship between Carrie and Debbie, who lived next door to each other, and is full of wonderful quotes from the pair. The pair also spoke a great deal about their relationship, with Carrie saying: "I think I'm my mum's best friend, more than a daughter… I like Christmas. I like the lights…my mum, she is Christmas. She's something special," while Debbie joked: "I share everything with my daughter, especially the check."

In one scene, Carrie is speaking about charging fans for autographs at a Fan Expo, saying: "We are at a lap dance, a celebrity lap dance, which is where celebrities of all shapes and ages sign autographs for cash prizes. It's sort of like going to a strip club, except they don't stuff cash in your underwear, but that's kind of it." She also spoke about her most famous role as Princess Leia from Star Wars, saying: "They love her and I'm her custodian and I'm as close as they're going to get. She is me and I'm her. They talk to me like I'm Princess Leia, who happens to have all these difficult experiences to go through, that's like me fighting for the force. It's nice, they're nice."
