Over the past few weeks, EastEnders has been making headlines with their continuity errors surrounding characters birthdays. And once again, eagle eyed viewers spotted another unfortunate blunder on Tuesday night's episode.
During one scene, a mysterious hand was seen on the floor of the Minute Mart when a rodent was been shooed out of the way by shopkeeper Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton). Viewers were quick to mock the gaffe, with one writing: "Did anyone else see the hand letting the rat out of the shop in eastenders #eastenders #Bloopers."
"Lol! The hand holding the rat #eastenders," said one Twitter follower, while another noted: "Great work by #eastenders hand and rat!" The blunder comes as Honey and fellow Walford resident Donna Yates were complaining about the bad state of the streets to market inspector Carmel Kazemi.
Last week, viewers noticed Mick Carter, played by Danny Dyer, celebrated his 40th birthday on the wrong date. The pub landlord celebrated the big birthday on Friday the 13th, when in recent years it was always on the 19th of January. "Mick's birthday was on the 19th last year," a viewer tweeted. One fan took to Twitter to screen-grab the character's Wikipedia page to prove his birthday is on the 19th of January.
Three days later, fans were surprised to see yet another favourite enjoy their big day at the wrong time with Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) celebrating his 56th birthday four days early. "@bbceastenders Phil Mitchell shared his birthday with my dad last year. This year it's 4 days early!!' one viewer wrote, while another remarked: "Excuse me but me and Phil Mitchell have always shared a birthday and my birthdays on the 20th...(which is Friday soooo) #eastenders."
