Elton John is taking his love of The Devil Wears Prada to the next level! It's just been announced that the award-winning artist will be in charge of writing the script and songs for the musical based on the famed movie and book.

Elton has been tapped to compose the music for the stage production of The Devil Wears Prada. "To bring The Devil Wears Prada to the stage, we knew we needed to find artists as inimitable as the characters in the story," Bob Cohen of Fox Stage Productions and Kevin McCollum said in a joint statement on Thursday (Jan. 27). "We needed artists whose work has run the gamut from music and publishing to drama and fashion. We could think of only two names: Elton John and Paul Rudnick... That’s all!"

Elton has written music for The Lion King and Billy Elliot

It was an opportunity that the 69-year-old couldn't pass up. "Re-imagining The Devil Wears Prada for the musical theatre is super exciting," he said after the news was announced. "I'm a huge fan of both the book and the feature film, and a huge aficionado of the fashion world. I can't wait to sink my musical teeth into this hunk of popular culture."

The iconic film stars Meryl Streep

The now-iconic film starred Meryl Streep playing a Vogue-esque editor whose attitude toward her employees (Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt) left a lot to be desired. It was adapted from the hit novel written by Lauren Weisberger. Of course with Elton at the helm of the musical, one can safely expect amazing things. He's beloved for his composing skills in the industry and helped turn Billy Elliot into the sensation it was. He's also been behind some of the most legendary songs of our time, including Can You Feel The Love Tonight from The Lion King. News of when the musical is expected to hit the stage and who will play the roles of Miranda Priestly and Co. is still be to announced.
