Ouch! Ed Balls was accidentally kicked in the face by his partner Katya Jones during the Strictly Come Dancing tour.

The former politician attempted to catch his partner as she flipped towards him, but it appears that Katya misjudged the somersault and accidentally kicked him in the face instead! Ed was unharmed and the pair began to laugh while completing the rest of the move. After putting Katya back on the ground, Ed jokily held a hand to his head before they launched into the next part of their routine.

The 49-year-old has been keeping fans up-to-date with his time on tour, and recently revealed that a lift that went wrong during his time on Strictly Come Dancing finally worked perfectly during a performance in Birmingham. He wrote: "Just finished the first @SCD_Live_Tour show in Birmingham - great crew, wonderful audience! And 'that lift' worked!" The father-of-three was a fan favourite during the show back in 2016, and spoke about his experience after being voted out. He said: "If people watching have had half the fun I've had learning to dance with Katya then they must have had a complete blast because it's been such a fabulous thing.

"The judges, all the supporters, the make-up team, the wardrobe, in particular that band are the best in the world. It's just wonderful. But above all the only reason we have been able to learn and to entertain is because of Katya, and it's her first series. She is going to go on to be a total dynamite, knock-out Strictly star, she is just the best there is. Absolutely amazing. She is utterly brilliant. And to all the people who have kept me in this long, thank you very much I'm very grateful, I've had a wonderful time."
