Hollywood stars including Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon and Kate Bosworth have all made the move to the small screen for 2017 with leading roles in some seriously binge-worthy shows. From Drew playing a flesh-eating zombie in Santa Clarita Diet to the latest updates on Steven Avery's case in the return of Making a Murderer, these are the shows we can't wait to watch in 2017.

Santa Clarita Diet

Netflix's new comedy-drama series sees Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant playing Sheila and Joel, a dissatisfied married couple living and working as estate agents in Los Angeles. Their lives take a dark turn when Sheila goes through a huge transformation – becoming a zombie who feeds on human flesh. Available to view now on Netflix.

Big Little Lies

With an A-List cast that includes Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley and Laura Dern, it's no wonder Big Little Lies has been hyped as one of the must-see shows of the year. Reese – who also serves as an executive producer along with her co-star Nicole – told Variety that they treated the show as a seven-hour film, adding: "I say episode six is better than most movies I've been in." The show premieres on HBO on 19 February, and will be coming to the UK just a few weeks later. Airing in March, Sky Atlantic.

SS-GB

Kate Bosworth stars as an American journalist opposite British actor Sam Riley, who plays a detective investigating a murder with potentially political implications. The five-part series has been compared to Amazon's hit The Man in the High Castle. Starts February, BBC One

Making a Murderer 2

Making a murderer

Steven Avery's case gripped viewers around the world when it first hit Netflix over a year ago. Now the filmmakers Moira Demos and Laura Ricciardi have promised we will get updates on both Steven and his nephew Brendan Dassey in Making a Murderer 2 later this year. With the pair both still appealing their convictions from prison, it appears there is still a lot more information emerging surrounding Teresa Halbach's murder. Airing on Netflix later this year.
