Storm Doris has disrupted trains, planes, and now the filming of Corrie! The filming of the popular soap was forced to shut down after 80mph made acting impossible. Helen Flanagan and her on-screen sister Brooke Vincent, who play Rosie and Sophie Webster, were seen in the blustering conditions in thick red jackets over their costumes before ITV studios called the filming off.

A spokeswoman for Coronation Street has now confirmed that the outdoor scenes affected by Storm Doris would be rescheduled, while the TV director David Kester tweeted a snap of the set under the grim weather conditions, writing: "Trying to film Corrie in Storm Doris...Nasty!" One fan jokily responded to his tweet, writing: "Just head to the Rovers for a pint - I would! Meanwhile the show has to go on #StormDoris" to which David replied: "Lol, if only Lucy...like you & @GranadaReports we never stop!" Helen, meanwhile, posted a selfie while filming, writing: "Out filming today on location in Storm Dorris," accompanied by a shocked face and umbrella emoji. Her Instagram followers offered their support, with one writing: "Good old Manchester weather eh hun. Keep safe and warm." Another added: "Take care stay safe and hope your day goes ok."

Helen's Corrie co-star Ben Price recently revealed he is planning on leaving his role in Manchester for good in order to spend more time with his family in London. Speaking about his decision, he said: "Yes, I'm going to leave. For my family. Yes, that's why. It's been amazing, love the show, amazing people, I've had extraordinary storylines. Could not have been any better. I live 200 miles away, I see my wife and children on a Saturday and I go back on a Sunday. It took me quite a while to think about, it was a big decision, but in the end it's my family and I miss them."
