Get ready everyone! It has been confirmed that The Night Manager will be returning for season two, but it sounds like fans may have to wait a while! The director, Susanne Bier, has admitted that the follow-up is "slowly being developed" by a team of writers. She told Broadcast: "We all want very much to do a season two but the thing we absolutely do not want is to do something that does not live up to the level of season one. That would be a really bad idea."

The show will return for a second series
Tom Hiddleston, who played the lead character Jonathan Pine in the first series, has previously opened up about the prospect of doing a second series. Chatting to Entertainment Weekly, he said: "Truthfully, I think it is still in the lap of [author] Le Carré himself. I think we're all aware that there is an appetite for more, but it really lies with the author, as it should, and if he can see a way for them to continue in a framework that fits his original conception. That's all I know for now." The star clearly loved playing the role, as he continued: "Jonathan Pine was such a fascinating prospect, a highly-skilled individual with a romantic spirit and a referential and broken heart. That combination was so fascinating."

Tom recently shut down questions about his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift. After being quizzed about her in an interview with The Telegraph, he said: "I'm just thinking about this. Everyone is entitled to a private life. I love what I do and I dedicate myself with absolute commitment to making great art and great entertainment and in my mind I don’t conflict the two. My work is in the public sphere and I have a private life. And those two things are separate."
