Jamelia has broken her silence on her departure from Loose Women, admitting it's unlikely she will ever return to the daytime show. The 36-year-old hasn't appeared on the panel since last October. It was reported at the time that she had rubbed ITV bosses up the wrong way by making controversial comments on plus-size women. Speaking to the Birmingham Mail this week, Jamelia said: "I haven't been formally sacked by Loose Women, as other people have in the past, so I technically still have a job with them. But I haven't been on the show since those reports, so people will make of that what they will."

She added: "The show is going in a different direction at the moment, and I don't seem to be a part of that narrative. I'm realistic. I doubt I'll be going back. But it's ok, as I am very excited about launching my own YouTube channel."

Jamelia was a regular panellist on Loose Women for three years. But she angered some viewers with her opinions on plus-sized clothing in high street stores. "I don't think it's right to facilitate people living an unhealthy lifestyle. I really don't," she argued on air.

"It's not a healthy size for an average woman to be. In high street stores, you're catering for the average woman. There's a healthy range. I don't believe they should be providing clothes for below that range or above that range. I'm not saying that nowhere should. Yes, you should have specialist shops, but I do think you should feel uncomfortable if you are unhealthy."
