Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani might have ended their marriage last year, but they remain connected through their music. The Voice star told This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that after 20 years together, and 14 years of marriage, his ex-wife still strongly influences his song writing. "I was with her for 20 years," the Bush frontman said. "So much in the same way I think for her material, I'm all over her material, and for me, she's all over mine. It's impossible to separate that." Gavin and Gwen, 47, are parents to three sons together – Kingston, ten, Zuma, eight and three-year-old Apollo.

The British musician also spoke about his decision to join The Voice UK. "It actually began with a cookery show I am doing because I wanted to show a different side of myself. And I had everything planned in my life, to be busy with music and my kids, and then The Voice came along, and I thought I was being Punk'd. I didn't quite believe it. I thought, they've got it all wrong." He continued: "I love every minute of it. I'm so thrilled. My team is incredible. And I'm learning as much from them as I'm trying to impart to them. So it's a great situation."

The Voice mentor was asked if he would want his sons to follow him into music

Gavin also spoke about his three sons and whether he would want them to follow him into the music industry. "You've got to be crazy to have a career in music!" he replied. "I would say go into tech, do something like that. I have so many children, it is my responsibility to make them contribute to society as oppose to take away from society. So whatever they do is fine by me, they've just got to be positive, cool people, that's all I care about."
